As you know, January 26, 2010 was the deadline to be in compliance with United States Customs ISF 10 + 2 Regulations. As an importer of US bound ocean cargo, it is your responsibility to ensure that all of your shipments meet the Importer Security Filing (ISF) requirements.
November 28, 2008 - CBP interim ruling requiring importers to electronically submit additional data elements on cargo prior to entry into United States
January 26, 2009 - ISF/10 + 2 ruling goes into effect, CBP allows a 1 year "phase-in" period for importers, brokers, and software providers to become compliant.
July 17, 2009 - CBP announces "US importers will be subject to a $5,000 fine for each instance in which a shipment security filing is late, inaccurate, or not properly withdrawn".
January 26, 2010 - CBP begins enforcement, $5,000 per instance.
